Our Story

LTD Malta is the dedicated company-formation, tax and residence services brand of Mediterra Group — a Malta-based corporate services specialist authorized by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA).

Mediterra Group was founded in 2012 by Dr. Anthony Ghirlando — a Malta-qualified lawyer with a Magister Juris from the University of Oxford — on a simple idea: corporate services in Malta should be cross-border by default, technically rigorous, and personal in delivery. In November 2014, Dr. Edward Dalmas — a Cambridge-trained lawyer with prior regulatory experience at the MFSA — joined as Director, expanding the firm’s tax and compliance practice.

Today, our practice serves family-owned companies, growth-stage businesses, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals and multinationals — simplifying complex structures and unlocking Malta’s competitive advantages within the EU single market.

Dr. Anthony Ghirlando

Anthony is the founder of Mediterra Group, established in 2012. He read law at the University of Malta, graduating LL.D. in 2007, then specialized at the University of Oxford with a Magister Juris (Master of Law) in Finance and Intellectual Property. Before founding the firm, Anthony worked in Ship Finance at an international bank in Malta — building deep cross-border deal experience. Today he leads the firm’s strategy, corporate structuring and yacht & aircraft registration practice.

Dr. Edward Dalmas

Edward joined Mediterra Group as Director in November 2014. He read law at the University of Malta (2001–2007), graduating LL.D., and specialized at the University of Cambridge with an LL.M. in tax, banking and finance (2007–2008). Before joining the firm, Edward practiced commercial law in private firms and held a regulatory role at the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) — giving him deep insight into the regulator’s perspective. He leads the firm’s tax structuring, residency and regulatory advisory practice.
